Contraception

Choosing the right birth control is not a one-size fits all approach. It can often be a difficult decision given there are so many options. Dr. Anghel works closely with his patients to educate them and find the right fit, taking into consideration a patient’s health, family planning goals and changing contraceptive needs. Forms of birth control Dr. Anghel offers include:

Oral contraceptive pills

Often the simplest, cheapest and most flexible form of birth control.

IUDs

For women looking to minimize hormonal exposure and who want easy to use and extremely reliable long-term birth control. This small plastic device is inserted in the uterus during a minor, in-office procedure that requires no anesthesia. IUD contraception is entirely reversible and depending on the type chosen, can provide protection from five to ten years. It does not interfere with breastfeeding.

Depo Provera

This is an injection of a type of progestin given every three months that provides highly reliable contraception.

NuvaRing®

NuvaRing® is a plastic ring which is inserted in the vagina and releases estrogen and progesterone that work similarly to the combination pill.

Sterilization

This is often an option for women who are certain that they are done having children. There are several different forms of sterilization available, and Dr. Anghel can help you find the right treatment for your body.

ESSURE®

This is a surgery-free, permanent birth control procedure that is done in-office, in under ten minutes. Find out more here.
